Flucos set new records at the Va. Tech invite

BLACKSBURG — The Fluvanna indoor track and field team broke five school records at the Virginia Tech invitation on Jan. 26 and 27.

The girls’ team broke the five records in the pole vault, triple jump, 500-meter run, 1600-meter run and the 200-meter relay.

Hannah Meador continued her pole vault dominance with a 12 feet vault new school record while Greer Brown broke the triple jump record with 36.00.5.

Maddy Kline set the 500-meter sprint record with a 1:21.61 finish while Brown Nicole Douma broke the 1600-meter run record with her 5:23.82 mark. The 200-meter relay team of Aesia Toliver, Brown, Kline and Meador now have the record with a 1:51.14 finish.

The indoor track and field teams next head to Woodberry Forrest on Feb. 3. The Jefferson District Championships are Feb. 8 at the Fork Union Military Academy Estes Center.

    also according to MileStat, Precious Banks ran a 1:20.45 500m at the state indoor meet in 2009 and holds the school record.
