Basketball alumni welcomed for last game in Shoebox

PALMYRA — The Fluvanna County High School Athletic Department has invited former boys’ and girls’ basketball players for the ‘Last Bout in the ‘Box.’

The Fluco boys’ basketball team will hold a ceremony before it takes on Powhatan on Feb. 3. The girls’ ceremony will be before the Louisa game on Feb. 7.

At each game, former players will be called down to the court to get a final look at the gymnasium and the people that lit up the scoreboard and Fluco Faithful.

Former players that will attend their respective ceremony are encouraged to RSVP with Darren McCauley, at least a day but preferably, two days before the event. Players can also email their fair-well wish, slogan or a rememberable saying from their time in the Shoebox.
