We only care about Fluco sports’ news, an idea of our founder, Bryan Rothamel in October 2011
Rothamel first started FlucoBlog.com with the help of his brother, Daniel Rothamel, Fluco Blog launched in October 2009.
Quickly rising through the news reporting landscape, Fluco Blog grew readers every month including a 200 percent increase in February 2010. A year later, visits increased another 150 percent in February 2011.
This success was helped with breaking Fluvanna news stories. Fluco Blog was often the only report of Fluvanna County High School Athletics.
Being the first online-only news organization in Fluvanna County, Fluco Blog launched Fluco Blog Live! which covered home basketball games and followed the girls’ basketball team to the state tournament. The final broadcast had over 145 listeners ranging as far away as Colorado.
The parent company, Top Bar Media, stopped Fluco Blog Live! in 2010 to launch the official broadcasting home of the Flucos, the Fluco Sports Net. Fluco SN is believed to be the first official broadcasting network for a Virginia high school.
In October 2011 FlucoSportsNet.com launched a new website to include not only broadcasts but also original articles on games and other sports’ news. The same month, FlucoBlog.com ceased.
